How traineeships work

A traineeship combines paid employment with structured training, allowing staff to develop job-ready skills while contributing to your service delivery.

Momentum College supports providers by:

  • Designing flexible workplace-aligned training plans
  • Delivering online learning supported by trainer mentoring
  • Conducting workplace observations and competence assessments
  • Supporting work placement and evidence collection
  • Partnering with Apprenticeship Support Networks for sign-up and claiming

Learners complete structured theory, practical workplace learning and competency-based assessment, including workplace observation and third-party reports to confirm real-world capability.

Eligible traineeship qualifications

Momentum College offers nationally recognised traineeships aligned to priority workforce needs, including:

CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

Develops core support worker capability and promotes independence, participation and inclusion for people with disability.

CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support

Builds advanced skills for complex supports, person-centred practice and team leadership within disability settings.

CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health

Prepares staff to deliver recovery-oriented, community-based mental health supports.

All courses are delivered via flexible online learning combined with workplace-based assessment and approximately 120 hours of practical placement where required.

Financial incentives for employers

Traineeships may unlock Government funding and incentives to support workforce development.

Depending on eligibility, employers may access:

  • Priority Hiring Incentive: up to $2,500 per full-time trainee (or $1,250 part-time) paid in instalments
  • Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment (AATSP) for eligible apprentices
  • Payroll tax rebates: potential savings of up to 5.45% on approved trainees
  • Support navigating eligibility and claims via ADMS

These incentives can significantly reduce the cost of staff development while strengthening workforce capability.
